Length is key for password security

It's important to use numbers, symbols and letters when choosing a password, but security is ultimately about length, Dave Johnson writes. Even a seemingly incoherent string of characters can be cracked fairly quickly if it's not very long. A password that takes the form of a long phrase would take much more time to crack, he writes, citing analysis by Intel's "How Strong Is Your Password?" site.
