Military families are still targets of payday lenders

Some payday lenders are circumventing the Military Lending Act to exploit military families through high-interest loans, critics say. Military members who fall into debt can lose security clearances, so they often avoid telling superiors when they get into financial trouble, experts say. "If we're serious about protecting military families from exploitation, this law has to be a lot tighter," said Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill.
