QSRs add super -- not super-sized -- foods to menus

Quickservice restaurants are adding super foods such as kale, goji berries and whole grains to their menus as more Americans seek healthy food on the go. "I get so excited when I see quickservice restaurants featuring ancient grain salads and more plant-based choices," said author Sharon Palmer. "It is a reflection that more people are interested in eating more plant-based foods. Surveys show that 47% of Americans eat at least one vegetarian meal a week. I think there is a growing interest in eating more whole-plant foods for health."
