Regulators delay deadline for harmonizing derivatives rules

In 2009, Group of 20 leaders said they wanted rules improving transparency of derivatives markets in place before 2013. Global regulators have postponed that deadline for harmonizing supervision of derivatives markets until September. "We have an aspirational goal of September for reaching resolution on some of these issues," said Brian Bussey, associate director for derivatives policy at the Securities and Exchange Commission.
