U.S. seals spectrum-sharing deal with neighbors to the north


The U.S. and Canada have reached an accord designed to facilitate wireless-spectrum sharing in border areas between the two countries. The deal, which will help unify public-safety networks and Wi-Fi hot spots, covers spectrum in the 700 MHz, AWS, PCS and 3.7 GHz wireless-broadband frequencies.
