Google announces magazine-style text ads

Google has launched a text ad format that uses whitespace to create a more aesthetically pleasing look to compete for the space usually occupied by display ads. The text ads will appear when they outbid display ads for a specific space. Publishers will have the choice between the three types: text-only, text and images, or the new magazine-style text ads.
