Northgate Gonzalez Market is working to broaden its Southern California customer base by adding products and opening stores in locations that are not densely populated by Hispanics, according to Vice President of Marketing Mike Hendry. The 40-store chain uses English and Spanish on its signs and in social media posts, and it is exploring ways to offer electronic promotions more effectively. "We don't want to lose sight of what got us here. But we will continue to diversify our offerings while still carrying the best and freshest tortillas, bolillos, carnitas and tres leches cakes," Hendry said.
