South Carolina bridges to be demolished

Two bridges spanning the Cooper River in South Carolina near Charleston are being demolished under a $60-million contract awarded to a joint venture of Jay Cashman Inc., of Quincy, Mass., and Testa Corp., of Lynnfield, Mass. The bridges were replaced by the massive Ravenel Bridge, a $630-million project that opened in 2005.
