Analysts hope housing uptick will give copper demand a boost

Copper prices continued to rise this week as supply concerns outweighed concerns of lower demand. Meanwhile, analysts were awaiting U.S. residential construction figures, due on Friday, in hopes that any rise in home building could boost demand in the U.S. for copper, which is widely used for pipes and wiring.
