Calif. ports register mixed cargo volume in April

The ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, Calif., recorded mixed cargo volumes in April. Cargo volume at the L.A. port declined 9.45% compared with April 2012, but the Long Beach volume surged 12.5% in the same period. Overall container volume at the two ports rose 4% through April versus year-ago levels.
