Guest loyalty is strengthened more from offering an exceptional hotel stay than from offering points through the hotel's loyalty card, writes Caroline Cooper, founder of Naturally Loyal. On the other hand, loyalty cards can be a great loyalty-builder as long as rewards are special and valuable enough to provide guests a real incentive to be loyal customers, Cooper writes.
