Researchers devise technology to keep fruit, flowers fresh

Researchers are working to create technology to remove ethylene gas in an effort to keep fruit, flowers and other produce fresh longer. Produce items and flowers create and emit ethylene after harvest as a necessary part of the ripening process, but those in shipping containers release the gas in amounts that can cause unwanted ripening and spoilage.
