Florida orange growers hurt by diets, cheap imports

Florida orange growers supply 97% of the orange juice in the U.S., but the industry is under pressure as demand for fruit juice fell this year in light of popular low-carb diets. Cheap Brazilian juice imports also are helping to drive down prices. Farmers want politicians to promise never to roll back tariffs on the Brazilian products, saying such a move would decimate the Florida citrus industry.
