Sally Ride encourages girls to study science

Former astronaut Sally Ride, who in 1983 became the first American woman to orbit the earth, runs science camps for girls to encourage girls and young women to study science. Numbers from the California Department of Education suggest that more girls are taking upper-level math and science courses.
