Geron says lab created stem cells that make insulin

Geron says it worked with Canadian researchers who developed a technique to convert human embryonic stem cells into pancreatic-like cells that produce insulin. The work is viewed as a potential step toward fulfilling one of the major promises of embryonic stem cells, treating diabetes.
