Math puzzles, games lead to improved achievement:

Florida math teacher Betsy Valentine puts her third-grade students in small groups to complete math-based puzzles that teach them about algebra, geometry, fractions and statistics. While just 37% of Valentine's students were performing at grade level in math at the beginning of the school year, 94% are now, prompting leaders from other schools to visit her classroom to learn how to put her methods to work in their schools.
