Washington state seeks ways to cut costs of interchange project

Washington state officials are looking for ways to reduce the cost of a plan to build a bridge, freeway and transit project in the southwest part of the state. The Columbia River Crossing project's current cost is at least $4 billion. Cost-cutting options include removing a bridge lane in each direction or delaying some interchange projects, officials say.
