Pills suggested by vet help New York dog with heart ailment

A pit bull at a shelter in Long Island, N.Y., suffering from heartworm disease and a serious heart ailment is being treated with Viagra pills to keep her alive. The treatment was suggested by a veterinarian. "Viagra opens up the blocked vessels that go to the heart so it allows the blood to flow through the body," the dog's caregiver said.
