Report: Cost of desert solar could rival coal by 2025

The U.S. could become a global leader in solar-energy production, with desert solar capable of competing directly with coal-generation by 2025, according to a new report from the International Energy Agency. Globally, solar power is expected to make up about 11% of the world's electricity by 2050, the report says.
