Experts weigh in on timing of Cordray vote

Some industry analysts say the plan by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., to schedule a vote next week on the re-nomination of Richard Cordray to head the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau is an effort to deal with the matter before the Senate takes up immigration reform and the debt limit. Others say the vote is timed to give Democrats ammunition against Republicans for blocking the nomination or to divert negative attention from the White House.
