Marriage equality support rises sharply in Va., Mich.

Fifty-six percent of Virginians now support marriage rights for same-sex couples, a jump of 10 percentage points in two years, according to a new Washington Post poll. In Michigan, support has increased more than 12 percentage points over the last year, with 56.8 percent of registered voters now saying they’re in favor of allowing gays and lesbians to marry, another poll finds.
