Workers are filing more wage-theft lawsuits, analysis finds

The number of lawsuits accusing employers of wage theft increased nearly 10% in the 12 months that ended March 31, according to an analysis of government data by law firm Seyfarth Shaw. Some employment lawyers say ambiguity in federal law makes it difficult for employers to stay compliant, while worker advocates say more employers are deliberately violating wage-and-hour rules.
