Prince Edward Island hopes for funds for drug-tracking system

Prince Edward Island is hoping for federal funds to expand a computer system designed to prevent drug interactions and reduce prescription drug abuse to the entire island from just those covered by provincial drug programs. The provincial government has spent several million dollars for the system since the late 1990s, but is now looking to the Canadian government to pay for software needed to connect the province's pharmacies.
