Officials approve Virginia I-95/395 toll lanes, I-66 widening

Transportation officials in Virginia have approved plans for private companies to build express toll lanes on interstates 95 and 395 and to widen parts of Interstate 66 in Arlington. The I-95/395 project would involve transforming two carpool lanes into three high-occupancy toll lanes, and the I-66 project could connect a series of acceleration and deceleration lanes to widen the highway from two to three lanes in some parts.
