Third Manhattan business district envisioned on Far West Side

Some of New York City's biggest developers will have the chance to bid next month for the rights to build on the largest building site left in Manhattan -- 26 acres on the Far West Side, known as Hudson Yards. Mayor Michael Bloomberg plans to transform the industrial section of the city into a third business district, where the equivalent of five Empire State Buildings could rise.
