YouTube's Hurley wants to "empower" users through video

YouTube co-founders Chad Hurley and Steve Chen, in their first major interview since the user-video site became a unit of Google Inc., discussed the coming debut of video ads, the need for tools to stop copyright infringement and the site's emerging role as a societal force. "YouTube is becoming much more than an entertainment destination," Hurley said. "We want to entertain, inform and empower people with video around the world."
