Chocolate and Spam provide recession comfort

Hershey Co. and Hormel Foods Corp. posted strong first-quarter sales, as consumers flocked to inexpensive comfort food such as Hershey candies and Hormel's Spam and Dinty Moore stews. Hershey reported a 20% profit increase for the first quarter, while Hormel sales rose 6%.
