Caltrain, high-speed rail authority compete for stimulus

California's high-speed rail authority and its passenger rail service, Caltrain, are competing for a share of $2.25 billion in federal-stimulus funds. Both agencies are responsible for building the state's high-speed rail network. Caltrain's portion of the project has already undergone the required reviews, giving the agency an advantage in securing the funds.
