Feds urged to lift moratorium on shallow-water drilling permits

The International Association of Drilling Contractors has urged the Interior Department to lift a stoppage of new shallow-water drilling permits in the Gulf of Mexico. The Interior's decision came after the BP oil spill last month. The moratorium unfairly hurts the financial health of companies and the source of income of thousands of employees, IADC President Lee Hunt said.
