Flashing lights help keep hearing-impaired workers safe

Sirens and bells are all well and good, but flashing lights and clear signs are far more effective at keeping hearing-impaired workers safe, experts say. Safety features aimed at the hearing-impaired have an added benefit -- they work for people with perfect hearing, too, advocates say. "It makes the workplace safer for everyone," says an official from the Canadian Hearing Society.
