Florida district to make final decision on Good Friday holiday

The school board in Florida's Hillsborough County is expected to take a final vote today on whether Good Friday should be a school holiday. The district is considering making the day a holiday since widespread absences were reported on Good Friday this year. Under one proposal, students would have Good Friday off; for teachers, it would be a conference day that could be fulfilled beforehand. A second proposal would list Good Friday as a regular school day for students and staff.
