Gifted school that serves mostly minority students seeks more resources

A school that serves gifted students from across New York City in an aging facility in East Harlem is fighting for more resources to educate its students. There, 63% of students qualify for free or reduced-price lunches and only 1% are white. TAG Young Scholars is one of three citywide schools for gifted students in Manhattan, and school officials are hoping a new generation of parents attracted to the school for its programs will also help the school attract new funding.
