Deere posts 65% gain in fiscal Q2 profit and plans Chinese facility

Deere & Co. reported that profit climbed 65% in its fiscal second quarter, increasing to $904.3 million, compared with $547.5 million in the same period last year. The increase came from high crop prices, which boosted demand for farming equipment and machinery. The company also announced that it aims to construct an $80 million factory in China's Heilongjiang province that will manufacture larger farm equipment.
