Ford partners with Google to put drivers' location data to work

Ford is working with Google to create a route-optimization system that combines Ford's cloud-based location-tracking technology with Google's predictive analysis software. The system would create profiles based on drivers' locations, the time of day and drivers' habits, then use that profile to determine the best route and how much hybrid cars should rely on electric power. The data received from the system could help Ford design better products, experts say.
