Lake Las Vegas blooming again after bankruptcy

Lake Las Vegas emerged from bankruptcy last July, but the town 17 miles from the Vegas Strip really got back its heartbeat when Ravella at Lake Las Vegas opened in the former Ritz-Carlton hotel. Other new businesses -- and tourists with money to spend -- have followed. "It is the polar opposite from where we were a year ago," said Maurice Talley, commercial manager for Pacific Capital Management, which oversees The Village Lake Las Vegas retail and dining area.
