OIG report finds holes in federal health IT security

An Office of the Inspector General report finds the Office of the National Coordinator lagging in efforts to fully address the security issues tied to health IT use, noting a lack of HIT measures that promote general IT protection. In a separate report, the OIG also criticized the Office for Civil Rights for its lax enforcement of the HIPAA privacy provisions.
