Bran may help protect diabetic women from heart disease

A Harvard Medical School study of 7,822 women with Type 2 diabetes found that those who ate the most bran were 28% less likely to die and 35% less likely to die from cardiovascular disease than those who consumed the least bran. Women with the highest bran intake got about 9 grams each day, about 10 times more than the lowest-intake group.
