Fed policymakers favor deferring sale of mortgage assets

Most policymakers at the Federal Reserve preferred to delay the sale of $1.1 trillion in mortgage-backed securities, according to minutes of the central bank's late April meeting. Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke and other policymakers are trying to determine when and how quickly to shrink the central bank's balance sheet, the minutes indicate.
