Proposal to ban sugary drinks in Florida public schools loses steam

After receiving objections from the dairy and soft-drink industries, education leaders in Florida have decided to take more time to consider a proposal that would limit school offerings to bottled water, flavored water, pure juice and white, low-fat milk. Cafeteria managers across the state also expressed concern that milk consumption would drop greatly if flavored milks were removed from schools.
