Taking green trucks for a spin

Coca-Cola, Wal-Mart, UPS and FedEx are among the companies experimenting with hybrid-electric tractor-trailer trucks in an effort to slash fuel costs and conserve natural resources, said former trucker Aaron Turpen, founder of GreenBigTruck.com, in this interview. Coke, for example, has been running 327 hybrid-electric delivery trucks for the past year, resulting in fuel savings of 30% over diesel, he said.
