Crushing pressure at sea's depths seen as tool to store energy

The tremendous pressure exerted by water at great depths is envisioned as a component in a system for storing grid energy. The Hydrostor system would use concrete tanks with hatches that open to let water gush in and drive turbines. Later, the water would be pumped out with energy from the power grid the tanks are connected to.
