Golf Channel Nears 50 Million Subscribers

The Golf Channel, which traditionally has drawn an older, wealthier audience, is rethinking its programming strategy to skew younger as it closes in on the 50 million subscriber mark, a report says. The network reportedly plans to experiment with MTV-style pop-up ads and may add some faster-paced programming to reel in and retain younger viewers.
