Cement shortage may stop construction boom in its tracks

The nation's construction boom may be close to hitting the wall if a cement shortage that has already caused serious problems in Florida spreads to other states. Industry officials say a big part of the problem is China, whose own building boom has tied up global shipping lines for transport of other building materials. This means there aren't enough ships to haul cement to U.S. ports from places like Colombia and Thailand.
