William Ris, senior vice president of government affairs at American Airlines, said the carrier is losing $3 million each day because of soaring fuel prices. The result will likely be the introduction of additional revenue streams and cuts to capacity. "We are used to a lot of headwinds in our business," Ris said. "We are not in a perfect storm. We're in a tidal wave coming from one direction -- and that's the price of fuel."
