Analysts brace for nonresidential construction slowdown

Construction of offices, hotels and malls could be the next sector to experience a slowdown. A slowdown in nonresidential construction, which held up even as housing slumped, could give the economy another jolt. "My conversations with contractors show ... their order books are shrinking and they're quite worried," said Kenneth Simonson, the chief economist for the Associated General Contractors of America.
