Retailers rethink luxury lines

Some chains are moderating plans to launch upscale lines during the economic downturn. Cache has shuttered two of its 15 Cache Luxe stores, and Coldwater Creek is dropping its higher-end Spirit line. A Gap spokesman said the company is on track with sales for Banana Republic's BR Monogram line.
