Concrete's carbon footprint may be smaller than scientists estimated

Small quantities of carbon dioxide emitted by concrete are later reabsorbed, according to several studies. The results suggest that concrete may absorb more carbon dioxide than scientists previously believed. Currently, many scientists believe that the concrete industry is responsible for 5% of the world's carbon footprint.
