Higher fitness levels linked to longer life

Researchers analyzed data from 33 studies that included almost 103,000 patients and found higher levels of physical fitness really do help people live longer. People with low levels of cardiorespiratory fitness had a 70% higher risk of death from any cause and a 56% greater chance of coronary heart disease and cardiovascular events when compared with those who had higher CRF levels.
