Millionaires are main focus for audits, IRS chief tells lawmakers

A campaign by the Internal Revenue Service to toughen action to stop international tax fraud is putting the focus of tax audits on wealthy individuals and businesses, IRS Commissioner Douglas Shulman told a House of Representatives subcommittee. "Our long-term investment is to have a trend where wealthy individuals, large corporations, who have really benefited from being in the United States, we're going to make sure that they pay their taxes," he said.
