AirTran mending bridges as it builds Milwaukee hub

Three years ago, AirTran Airways was portrayed as a villain in Milwaukee during its attempted takeover of hometown carrier Midwest Airlines. But now that the Midwest brand is disappearing following its purchase by Republic Air Holdings, AirTran is fighting hard to win the loyalty of its former critics. With this week's addition of nonstop service to New Orleans, AirTran says its Milwaukee hub serves 27 cities with about 60 daily flights -- with more to come.
